    Building Tips

    Big houses
  • Don't build your house too big, it takes your sims too long to walk around and wastes their energy. (I'm and hyprocrat, but what the heck) You can still max out your room score by filling your small rooms full art, better wallpaper, and more windows.

Scrape it of before putting it on
  • If you want your money back, take the old walpaper of the wall before you put a new one on.

    Undo, don't sell
  • If you mess up while building. HIt the undo button if you can, it saves you more money then if you sell the messed up object.

    Water Code
  • You can make cool lakes, streems, or river by using the water tool. Just enter "water_tool" into the cheat window (commmand-shift-c).

    Trees instead of Plants
  • Planting trees is a lot easier then planting flowers, you don't have to water them and they add the same your room score.

    Small Toilets
  • If you have very big families, build several small "toilet" rooms so they don't inerupt each other.

    Big or small window?
  • If you haven't noticed, all the windows supply the same amount of light. So there is no need to buy a big window, except for the looks of it.

    The area around your house...
  • is important to your sims room score. Building plants, and flowers helps increase the score and thus your sims mood, and job performace when they leave their house in the morning to go to work.

    Keyboard shortcuts and tips
  • You can easily build square rooms by holding shift and draging out a wall.
  • To delete anything you have build, select the object you want deleted and hold the command button while drawing over, or clicking on the object you want to remove.
  • To easily cover a room with tiles, just hold shift and click on the floor of the room. (you can also remove all the tiles by holding shift-command and clicking on the floor of a room)
