MacOS 10.2 Jaguar release: The Apple Store at Lenox Square

    Updated --08/26/02
On friday August 23rd I attended the "In-Store Event" at the Apple Store at Lenox Square Mall in Atlanta. The first people were let in at 10:20PM, but I didn't end up getting into the store until after 1AM. The line was unbelievably long, and went almost around the whole upper level of the mall. After I waited for more than two hours I was beginning to wonder why I was actually there. I could have just bought a copy the next day, but the wait payed off in the end. We got a great deal on an refurbished 15" iMac CD-RW for $1100 including Jaguar. Not bad, even though the wrong power cable was in the box when we opened it, but you can't blame them, it was 2AM.

There were several promotions going on including a 10% off deal on any other purchases you made together with Jaguar or a new Mac. (I earlier wrote that Jaguar was 10% off, but it was sold at full price.) An iMac give-away was also going on, presentations of Jaguar were going on all night (sales associates are hard working people), and mouse pads, and t-shirts were given away.
